LED technology a disruptive influence
Every once in a while a new technology comes along which by its very nature disrupts the long established industries. High Brightness LED technology does just that, eliminating the need for lamps and colour filters which have been around since the advent of the light bulb.
The R&D team continually work to develop this technology, knowing that the benefits of a solid state colour changing device, far outweigh the existing use of mechanical or fixed colour changing fixture that use filters to filter white light.
Having pioneered high brightness light engines with homogenized optics, we continue to develop even brighter sources. Working closely with the led die manufacturers to keep our product line at the 'cutting edge' of development.
With our in house disciplines of optical, mechanical, electronic and thermal design, we have developed a strong team each experts in their own field, collectively contributing to the ongoing development of high brightness light engines.
In the last five years we have already made a mark with many productions. Radioheads totally LED world tour (LD Andi Watson) , saw energy savings in excess of 80%, with reliability increases due to solid state colour control, with no mechanical devices to maintain.
Energy reduction in a power hungry industry seems a far fetched idea, given the predominance of high wattage devices. However we have seen some remarkable uses of our product range to displace generic devices and thus help reduce total power consumption.
Other benefits to the performers onstage include a complete lack of radiated heat within the beam of our product range.
With the advancement of media servers offering pixel mapping functionality, we continue to see the design community increasingly treating our individual light engines as pixels. Realizing an even bigger picture with tessellating our products to form low resolution systems. Effectively and dramatically using video footage as a means of illumination with added visual impact.
This disruptive control technology has already been implemented by savvy lighting designers. With exceptionally complex lighting 'looks;' being created in a matter of seconds rather than hours of programming.
With power reduction and improved functionality over older technologies our customers have grown to appreciate the many benefits our technology has to offer.
