LD: Vince Foster
Fourteen i-Pix Satellites were utilized on the UK and Russian legs of George Michael's 25 Live tour designed by Vince Foster.
They were supplied by main lighting contractors Neg Earth and used specifically to side-light the band, after been specified by associate LD Dennis Gardner working with lighting director Benoit Richards.
The need for special side lighting initially arose when a DVD of the show was being shot during the UK tour, and they wanted some small, unobtrusive, colour-changing fixtures to illuminate the band from close proximity. Gardner first saw Satellites while the tour was in rehearsals at Lite Structures in Wakefield ... ….. And thought they were an excellent choice.
"They were really ideal for the job - very easy to rig and did exactly what ‘it said on the tin' " he comments.
The tour was Michael's first since 1991, and was one of the most successful of 2006.
